Starting in Jerusalem, with centralized pick up the tour travels south towards Eilat, crossing the border in the southern city via the Arava border crossing. With the help of a border assistant, cross in comfort arriving into Jordan for an exhilarating tour ahead. Start by heading to the port city of Aqaba, situated along the Red Sea, with time to relax, explore and have a coffee or quick bite. From Aqaba, travel to Wadi Rum to check into the Bedouin campsite, overnight accommodation for the evening and experience a taste of the famous Jordanian hospitality. In the afternoon when the temperatures are cooler, head out with a local Bedouin into the vast desert landscape on a Jeep safari adventure, one of the best ways to take in this unique landscape. Later return to the Wadi Rum camp filled with visions of the desert, and unwind over dinner enjoying an authentic Jordanian style feast, and finally get some rest in the comfortable tent accommodation (upgrades possible), for a memorable night under the desert night sky. The following morning, wake up rested and slowly wake up over breakfast, preparing for a full day of sightseeing ahead in Petra, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site that is also one of the Seven Wonders of the World. - Day 1 – 03:00 – Pickup from Jerusalem and road transportation down south to Eilat towards border crossing.
- Day 1 – 08:00 – Cross through the Arava border from Israel into Jordan with assistance.
- Day 1 – 09:15 – Spend some time in Aqaba, the resort town and port city overlooking the Red Sea, with time to explore at leisure and enjoy a coffee or a quick snack.
- Day 1 – 12:15 – Head to the Wadi Rum Desert and arrive at Bedouin Camp with time to check into the accommodation and have time to relax.
- Day 1 – 13:00 – Get acquainted with the new surroundings and Bedouin accommodation
- Day 1 – 15:00 – Head out into the beautiful scenic desert on a Jeep Safari led by a local Bedouin, this is a magical time to take photos and marvel at the landscape.

- Day 2 – 12:00 – Continue to explore the extensive park in Petra, this is the time to visit the Petra Monastery, revisit other sites or enjoy lunch at leisure.
- Day 2 – 16:30 – Depart from Petra and begin the travel back to the border.
- Day 2 – 16:45 – Travel from Petra to Arava crossing.
- Day 2 – 18:30 – Cross the border back onto the Israeli side, arriving into Eilat after crossing.
- Day 2 – 19:30 – From Eilat, return to Jerusalem via road transfer, (driving time to Jerusalem is approximately 4 hours)

- Things included in the Petra Wadi Rum Tour from Jerusalem – 2 days tour price: Round trip pickup and transportation to all sites, entrance fees, accommodation in Wadi Rum camp or hotel, all guiding in English, and meals outlined above (day 1 – dinner, day 2 – breakfast, snack box, vegan option available), 1 bottle of water per day. For those travelers who choose to stay in a hotel instead of camp on day 1, please note dinner is not included.
- Things not included in the tour cost price: border fees (US$65 approx paid in cash at the border), Jordanian visa fee of $60 for those who have not pre-arranged a visa, lunch, tips.
- For those who are single travelers there is a $25 USD single supplement added.
- In order to ensure timely arrival to the border crossing and pass before other travelers our tour departs earlier than most. This allows for an expedited crossing procedure and maximizes time spent in Petra.
- During the guided tour portion in Petra the group will have a maximum of 25 passengers however transportation may be with more passengers. Larger vehicles are more comfortable and accommodating, so transportation may be shared.
- Tour is available from Jerusalem every day.
- In the winter months in Jordan when the temperature is colder, the order of the sites might be adjusted, and a different itinerary is implemented to accommodate.
- Bedouin Wadi Rum Camp accommodation includes basic tent for 2 people (Single Supplement applies for solo travelers) shared bathroom/showers with hot water no air conditioning.
- For those who wish to upgrade: Bedouin Camp Upgrade possible to chalet with air conditioning and en suite bathroom $40 pp.
- For those who wish to upgrade to “Martian dome tents”, subject to availability, extra $110 pp, $220 for single. Must be booked in advance at the time of booking.
- For those who wish to upgrade to luxury camp, subject to availability, usually Sun City Camp, Mazyaen Camp, Hazan Zawehah Camp, Memories Aicha Camp or similar.
- This Petra and Wadi Rum tour itinerary includes approx 7 hours in Petra, approximately 2.5 hours with a guide, and 4.5 hours of free time. Also, our vehicle travels directly from Jerusalem to the border, so there is no need to drive through another city on the way.
