The King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) Border crossing terminal is located approximately 57 km from the capital city of Amman and is the closest border to the city. It is easy to arrange taxis directly with most hotels in Amman or take a shared taxi with other travelers directly to the Israeli-Jordanian border. There is a shared taxi service at Tabarbor Mujamaa Shamali. You can also take the JETT bus from Abdali at 7:00 am daily, the cost is 10 JOD. Some sites or sources will say that the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) Terminal Crossing is not open to tourists, however, this is not the case. Tourists may cross at this border however it is important to check official border sites for updates in the event of a closure. You will enter a window and proceed through customs as the immigration officers will check your passport. You may need to pay a departure tax depending on when you entered Jordan. Most likely it will be the 10 JOD exit fee and you will receive an exit stamp in your passport. The immigration officers will take your passport as you cross from Jordan into Israel and will bring your passports over as you wait on the shuttle once the passports are processed. You will then take a shuttle to the Israeli side of the border where your bags will be searched, and you will go through questioning and processing with Israeli immigration.

Passport Requirements for King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) Terminal Crossing

Always make sure you have six months of passport validity in order to enter from Jordan into Israel, as well as a blank page which is required for the entry stamp. This is not guaranteed and the airport security at the airport may not approve this request but you can ask.

In general, at the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) crossing the Israeli border control will stamp passports. You can always kindly ask them not to stamp inside your passport but make sure you are very clear when you are requesting this.
